    Joseph C. Best, 76, of Boswell RD 2, died Jan. 10, 1973, in his
  residence.   He was born May 19, 1896 in Clarion County, a son of the late
  Joseph W. and Nercissa (Pollock) Best.  He was preceded in death by his
  first wife, the former Helen Grossman; and his second wife, the former
  Alyce Schrock.  Survived by these children: Mrs. Lynn (Betsy) Buckham,
  Boswell RD 2; David W., Fairfield, Iowa; Clifford W., Butler; seven
  grandchildren; and a brother, R. G. Best, Kittanning.  Friends will be received
  after 2 p.m. today, Thursday, in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home, where
  service will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Hull
  officiating.  Interment, Lavansville Lutheran Cemetery.
