"Chuck," 81, and June L., 76, Betsch of Buffalo Mills passed away Feb. 1, 2001 in Somerset Twp. Chuck was born June 24, 1919 in Pittsburgh, the son of Louis and Louise (Otto) Betsch. June was born Aug. 11, 1924 in Burgettstown, the daughter of Malberta and Louise (Newman) Matthews. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Glatz. June was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Sam Gordon. They were both preceded in death by their grandson, Maxx Parker. They are both survived by their daughter, Daria, married to Phillip Parker, of Boswell; sons Christopher, married to Elizabeth Betsch of Jacksonville, N.C. and Regis, married to Jean Betsch of Delaware, and grandchildren, Leslie J. Parker and Paul, David, Michael and Christie Betsch. Chuck is the brother of Frank Betsch of Apollo and Marie Schroder of Florida. June is the sister of Melvin Matthews of Oakwood, Ohio, and Harold Gordon of Florida. Chuck was a registered architect who was employed by G.C. Murphy Co. in Pittsburgh, Crown Construction of Johnstown and Laurel Development Co. in Latrobe. He was a member of the Bedford Co. Historical Society. The Betschs were members of the Pennsylvania Nut Growers' Assoc. and grew a variety of nuts on their farm in Bedford County. Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. Rev. Robert Doyle, officiating.
