  CHARLES I. BEVANS
  
    Charles I. Bevans, 78, of 2221 North Madison Street, died Dec. 4, 1986,
  at his home.
    He was born in Grantsville, Md. on Sept. 21, 1908.
    He was a member of Grace Reformed Church, Washington, D.C.  He was a
  retired legal advisor for treaty affairs with the U.S. State Department. 
  He was a graduate of George Washington University and American University
  where he received his law degree.  He was a recipient of the State
  Department Distinguished Honor's Award and John Jacob Rogers Award for
  outstanding service.
    Surviving are his widow, Ruth (Brenneman) Bevans; one daughter, Mrs. Sue
  Clark, Vienna; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Taylor, Annandale, Va.; Mrs.
  Mary Prichard and Mrs. Elizabeth Huff, both of Wheaton, Md.; one half
  brother, James C. Beachy, Wheaton and three grandchildren.
    Memorial services were conducted Dec. 7 at the Grace Reformed Church.
