Bevans, 78, of 2221 North Madison Street, died Dec. 4, 1986, at his home. He was born in Grantsville, Md. on Sept. 21, 1908. He was a member of Grace Reformed Church, Washington, D.C. He was a retired legal advisor for treaty affairs with the U.S. State Department. He was a graduate of George Washington University and American University where he received his law degree. He was a recipient of the State Department Distinguished Honor's Award and John Jacob Rogers Award for outstanding service. Surviving are his widow, Ruth (Brenneman) Bevans; one daughter, Mrs. Sue Clark, Vienna; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Taylor, Annandale, Va.; Mrs. Mary Prichard and Mrs. Elizabeth Huff, both of Wheaton, Md.; one half brother, James C. Beachy, Wheaton and three grandchildren. Memorial services were conducted Dec. 7 at the Grace Reformed Church. The Republic, December 24, 1986 [B1382]
