    Miriam E. Bier, 90, of Somerset, formerly of Lambertsville, died Jan. 17,
  2000 at Siemon Lakeview Manor Estate.  Born Oct. 27, 1909 in Pittsburgh,
  daughter of Wilbert and Lyda (Marthens) Evans.  Preceded in death by
  parents; and husband, Kenneth B.  Survived by son, Arthur K. married to the
  former Jean Gerhold of McCormick, S.C.; grandchildren, Brice K. Bier, Lesley
  Jean Oelke and Taryn L. Guelker; great-grandchildren, Heather and Holly
  Bier, Lauren and Ryan Oelke.  She was a member of Kantner United Methodist
  Church and past member of the  Stoystown Lioness Club.  Family will receive
  friends from 2 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Stoystown.  The Rev. Thomas H. Zimmerman officiating.
