  BIRD
  
    Frederick C. Bird, 69, Somerset, died May 29, 1997, in the Veterans
  Administration Hospital in Aspinwall.  Born Dec. 24, 1927, in Somerset, son
  of the late Sara Bird.  Survived by these children:  Marjorie, wife of
  Donald Shaulis, Somerset; Brenda, wife of Lester Snyder, Rockwood, and
  Richard Bird, Somerset; six grandchildren.  He was a retired employee of
  Briggs Inc. with 28 years of service.  Veteran of the U.S. navy in World
  War II.  Attended Somerset Christian Fellowship.  Friends will be received
  from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home,
  Somerset.  Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Somerset Christian
  Fellowship Church, with the Rev. William J. Dodson and the Rev. M.D.
  Herring officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.  The body
  will lie in state in the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. 
  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society,
  Somerset.
