  BIRD
  
  Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Bird, 72, Berlin, died May 3, 1989, at her son's
  residence.  Born July 17, 1916, in Berlin, daughter of Charles W. and
  Margaret Fogle.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Paul L. Sr.; and
  sister, Eleanor Brown.  Survived by these children:  Paul L. Jr., married
  to the former Judith Sperry, Berlin RD 3; Mrs. Robert (Janet) Young, Berlin
  RD 4; and 7 grandchildren.  Member of Berlin Brethren Church, where she
  served as deaconess, Sunday school teacher and member of W.M.S. Member of
  Mountaineer Homemakers, Berlin Rebekah Lodge, and Meyersdale Lodge of the
  Eastern Star.  Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at
  Deaner Funeral Home, BERLIN, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday,
  with the Rev. Ralph Mills officiating.  Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F.
  Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Berlin Brethren Church
  or the Ashland Theological Seminary.
