MARY BIRD

  Mrs. Mary Bird, wife of Andrew L. Bird, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 28, at 11 
o'clock at her home on Sterner Street, Confluence, of a complication of diseases 
at the age of 76.
  She was a daughter of the late Jedi and Elizabeth Show, born July 30, 1867, 
near Confluence, and spent her entire life in this community.
  She was married Jan. 1, 1901, to Andrew L. Bird who, with a daughter, June, 
wife of Carl G. Peterson of Scottdale, survives.  There are three grandchildren, 
Nancy, June and Tommy Peterson, and two sisters, Grace Trombley and Zetta Kurtz, 
of Confluence, who also survive.
  She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Women's Society of Christian 
Service of Confluence.
  The funeral service was held at her late home Thursday afternoon at 2:30.  
Interment was in the Addison Cemetery.
