Born July 23, 1915 at East Brady. Preceded in death by father, Charles Moore Wallace; mother, Margaret Cumings Wallace; and husband, R. Keith Bishop, who died in 1989. Survived by daughter, Bonnie Bishop, Nahant, Mass.; son, Kirk Bishop, Wenham, Mass.; 3 grandsons: Kyle, Drew and Dale Bishop. After two years at Pennsylvania College for Women, now Chatham College, she transferred to Cornell University where she was graduated as a chemistry major in 1936. While working for the Calgon Corp. in Pittsburgh, she met Keith Bishop, whom she married on Jan. 24, 1942. While Keith served in the Pacific during World War II, she taught chemistry at Smith College. After the war, the couple settled in Allison Park, where they raised their family. In 1968 they moved to Seven Springs and in 1988 to Sherwood Oaks, Cranberry. Throughout her life, Jean was an active churchwoman in the Episcopal parishes near her homes. For many years she volunteered at the American Red Cross in Pittsburgh. She enjoyed theater, bridge, music-especially Dixieland jazz and the symphony-and entertaining. At Sherwood Oaks Continuing Education, she taught Advanced Bridge and a History of the American Musical Theater. Service at St. Michael's of the Valley Episcopal Church, Rector, Pa at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. James B. Simons clergy. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Rector.
