Bittinger, 46, was dead on arrival Saturday, Feb. 19, 1972, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born in Jennings, he was a son of the late Thomas and Bella (Wilt) Bittinger. Mr. Bittinger was employed by Keystone Lime Company, Springs; and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Evangeline Bittinger; two daughters, Penelope and Shelby, both at home; two brothers, Calvin Bittinger, of Bittinger, Md.; and Ray Bittinger, Grantsville; and three sisters: Mrs. Margaret Durst and Mrs. Delora Durst, both of Grantsville; and Mrs. Claudine Tressler, Mt. Lake Park, Md. Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon in Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville with Rev. Earl Yoder officiating. Interment in Oak Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery.
