DONNIE LOUISE BITTINGER

Grantsville, Maryland

  Donnie Louise Bittinger, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bittinger, 
which was born Tuesday, Nov. 18, lived only eight days.  The baby died about 
noon at the Hazel McGilvery Hospital, Meyersdale, where it had remained since 
birth.  The child was born prematurely and little hope was held for its 
survival.  The Rev. Samuel D. Sigler accompanied by the child's aunt, Mrs. W. 
Harold Miller, and Mrs. Sigler, went to the hospital on Monday evening and 
conducted a baptismal service.  Brief funeral services were held from the home 
here, Thursday afternoon, with Rev. Sigler officiating, and the little body was 
laid to rest in the Grantsville Cemetery, under the direction of William 
Winterberg, local mortician.  Mrs. Bittinger, the former Evelyn Swauger, who was 
removed to her home here several days ago, is reported to be getting along 
satisfactorily.
