  EDWARD F. BITTINGER
  
    Edward F. Bittinger, 74, died Tuesday, May 9, at Goodwill Mennonite Home,
  Grantsville.
    Born in Avilton, he was a son of Rebecca (Burkholder) Bittinger and the
  late Andrew Bittinger.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Flossie Durst; three sons, Harley E.
  and Harold Bittinger, both of Grantsville; Elmer L., Salisbury RD; two
  daughters, Mrs. Nellie Hutzel and Mrs. Freda Hutzel, both of Grantsville;
  16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
    He was a brother of Simon Bittinger, Grantsville; McKinley, Gorman and
  Mrs. Dorothy Green, Lonaconing RD; and Claude, Sykesville, Md.
    Funeral service was held at Laughlin Church of the Brethren on Thursday
  afternoon, with Rev. Vernon Shanholtz officiating.  Interment was made in
  Durst cemetery under direction of Newman Funeral Home.
