He was a son of the late Edward and Flossie B. (Durst) Bittinger. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor June (Bittinger) Bittinger, Feb. 18, 1994; a daughter, Gloria Jean Horning, and a sister, Nellie Hutzel. Member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church, Grantsville. Was a retired equipment operator for Keystone Lime Co. Surviving is a son, David Bittinger, Salisbury; 2 daughters, Judy Baker, Salisbury, and Gwendolyn Livengood, Grantsville; 2 brothers Harold Bittinger, Grantsville, and Harry Bittinger, Frostburg, Md., and a sister, Freda Hutzel, Grantsville; also 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., Salisbury, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Tim Fetterly officiating.
