  IRVIN R. BITTINGER
  
    Irvin R. Bittinger, 75, of South Edgewood Avenue, Somerset, died July 17,
  1978 in the Meyersdale Hospital.
    Born July 10, 1903 in Jennings, Md., he was a son of Charles W. and Mary
  (Hoover) Bittinger.  He was preceded in death by wife, Sadie A. Durst, Feb.
  1, 1978; also three daughters.
    He is survived by one daughter, Ruby, wife of the Rev. Leonard Day; and
  two sons, Ronald C. and Blaine, all of Somerset; also five grandchildren
  and two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Daniel of Salisbury.
    He was a member of the Somerset Church of God.
    Services will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Robert H.
  Halverson Funeral Home with the Rev. Flavis L. Burroughs officiating. 
  Interment, Mizpah Cemetery.
