  BITTINGER
  
  Lee Gilbert Bittinger, 65, of Masontown, formerly of Confluence, died May
  27, 1989, at Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown.  Born Feb. 19, 1924, in Garrett
  County, Md., son of Annie (Wilt) Whiteman of Confluence and the late Howard
  Lee Bittinger.  Also preceded in death by his wife, Lola (Shipley)
  Bittinger.  Others surviving:  Daughters Victoria Tressler, Confluence;
  Phyllis Lohr and Patricia Brooks, both of Masontown; sons Chester,
  Watertown, N.Y.; Roger, Addison; and Eric, Republic; 10 grandchildren; and
  sister Patsy Bittinger, Hagerstown, Md.  He was a World War II veteran and
  a member of Confluence VFW Post 7250.  Friends received 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at
  Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where services are 1 p.m. Wednesday with
  the Rev. Thomas Charles officiating.  Interment, Sansom Chapel Cemetery.
