  NORMAN L. BITTINGER
  
    Norman L. Bittinger, 78, of Grantsville, Md., died August 23, 1978,
  in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born at Jennings, Md., Mr. Bittinger was a son of the late Jacob J.
  Bittinger and Elizabeth (Hoover) Bittinger.
    He was a member of the Brethren Church.
    Surviving are his widow, Pearl (Fazenbaker) Bittinger; three
  sons:  Elbert and Roy W. Bittinger, both of Grantsville, and Kenneth
  Bittinger, Waynesburg, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Pauline Swertzer,
  Swanton; two brothers, Columbus Bittinger, Woodland, Md.; and Raymond
  Bittinger, Lonaconing; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Weimer, Meyersdale,
  and Mrs. Lula Brown of Grantsville; 15 grandchildren and 18
  great-grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home where services
  were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Robert W. Collette. 
  Interment, Bittinger Cemetery.
