Rexford Bittinger, Sr., 82, of Grantsville, died Aug. 28, 1994, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born on April 9, 1912, in Grantsville, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Orendorf) Bittinger. He also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy Ann. Mr. Bittinger was a member of Saint Ann's Catholic Church, Grantsville, and was a member of Woodman of the World, Camp 41. He retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company after 30 years of service. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Mary Mildred (Miller) Bittinger; three sons: Rex Bittinger Jr., Hanover, Md.; Pat Bittinger, Lanham, Md.; Regis Bittinger, Cumberland; one daughter, Mildred Hengelsberg, Allison Park, Pa.; one brother, Blaine Bittinger, Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Alma Weller and Edith Herring, both of Grantsville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Ann's Catholic Church, Grantsville on Aug. 30, with the Rev. William Moody officiating. Interment, Saint Ann's Cemetery, Avilton.
