  SIMON BITTINGER
  
  Simon Bittinger, 83, of 614 Broadway, Meyersdale, died March 29,
  1978, in Meyersdale Community Hospital.
    Born in Garrett County, Md., Mr. Bittinger was a son of the late
  George A. and Rebecca (Burkholder) Bittinger.
    Mr. Bittinger was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
    Surviving are his widow, Dora (Raupach) Ackerman Bittinger; three
  brothers, Gorman and McKinley Bittinger, both of Salisbury; Claude
  Bittinger, Baltimore; and one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Fazenbaker,
  Oakland, Md.
    Services were held Saturday at the Newman Funeral Home with the
  Rev. Richard Green officiating.  Interment, Maple Grove Cemetery.
