    Melvin W. "Moon" Bittlebrun, 81, Somerset Pike, Boswell, died Sept. 28, 2008,
  at Windber Medical Center. Born April 15, 1927, in Jennerstown, son of Frank and
  Florence (Walters) Bittlebrun. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 58 years,
  the former Eleanor J. Reitz on Aug. 20, 2007; daughter, Jacqueline Bittlebrun;
  brother, William; and sister, Patricia Bittlebrun. Survived by daughters, Susan
  J., married to David L. Borosky, Boswell, and Brenda A., married to James W.
  Travis, Altoona; granddaughters, Jennifer G., married to Dale Rose Jr.,
  Boswell, and Joyelle L. Borosky, Boswell; brother, Ronald J. and wife, Nancy,
  Somerset Pike; sisters, Melda Hay, Jennerstown, Mary, married to Robert Lundy,
  Renovo, and Reta, married to Robert Powell, Somerset. Also survived by numerous
  nieces and nephews. A U.S. Marine veteran of World War II. Retired longtime
  employee of the Boswell Lumber Company. Volunteer for Somerset County Meals on
  Wheels. Member of Benscreek Evangelical Lutheran Church. Viewing from 6 to 9
  p.m. Tuesday, at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St.,
  Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. Wednesday, at
  Benscreek Lutheran Church. Pastor Larry C. Hoover officiating. Interment, Maple
