BESSIE BITTNER

  Mrs. Bessie Bittner, widow of Benjamin Bittner, former resident of Meyersdale, 
died last Thursday at her home in Pittsburgh at the age of 71 years.  She was a 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Smith, pioneer settlers of Meyersdale.  
Surviving are eight children, 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  
Mrs. Bittner's husband was proprietor of a restaurant here for a number of 
years.  Funeral services were conducted Saturday with burial in the Highland 
Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
