Bittner, 82, of Boynton, died Dec. 13, 1978, at home. Born June 13, 1896, in Boynton, he was the son of the late William and Mary Ellen (Grove) Bittner. He was preceded in death by a son, Clyde. He is survived by his wife, the former Cora (Stanton) and two sons, Everett of Boynton, Frank Bittner of Meyersdale; and three daughters, Mrs. Sylina Holler of West Salisbury; Mrs. Ethel Bittner and Mrs. Martha Spiker, both of Boynton. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Nora Thompson, also of Boynton; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a retired miner and barber. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Salisbury American Legion, Construction Workers Local 910 of Johnstown. Friends were received at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where services were held with the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery. The Republic, December 21, 1978 [B1563]
