Bittner, 89, Glencoe, died April 7, 1979 at Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. He was born May 2, 1889 in Northampton Township, the son of the late Hiram and Sarah (Coughenour) Bittner. He was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers. Survived by his wife, Hazel Bittner and two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Marie) McKay, Littleton, Colorado ad Mrs. Byron (Lurene) Xeekamp, Cumberland Md., five grandchildren, one brother, Samuel Bittner and one sister Mrs. Clyde (Edna) Cook, Johnstown. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Glencoe and the Retired Teachers Association. He taught in Somerset County for 45 years. Services were held April 11 in Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin with the Rev. William N. Hay and Rev. LeRoy Logsdon officiating. Interment in Mt.
