CHRISTINA STARK BITTNER

  Mrs. Christina Stark Bittner, 59, 24 Large Street, Meyersdale, died on Monday, 
June 30, at 11:05 p.m. in the Windber Hospital to which she was admitted nine 
days previously.  She had been ill for six months.
  Born in Garrett County, near Oakland, Feb. 13, 1888, Mrs. Bittner was a 
daughter of the late James and Martha (Hetrick) Stark.  She was graduated from 
the Chicago School of Nursing in 1912 and had resided in Meyersdale since 1913, 
doing private duty nursing until her marriage.  She was a member of Amity 
Reformed Church.
  Besides her husband, Harvey E. Bittner, she is survived by three brothers, 
Floyd and Roy Stark, both of Akron, O., and Jacob Stark, Springs, Pa.
  A funeral service will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the 
home, with Rev. Nelson Brown, pastor of the Reformed Church, officiating.  
Interment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus, 
local mortician.
