Bittner, 65, Crafton, formerly of Somerset, died July 15, 1985, in Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Feb. 8, 1920, in Somerset, son of the late George and Mary (Fritz) Bittner. Also preceded in death by one sister. Survived by his wife, the former Clarice Holt; a son, Jerry Lee, Crafton; grandchildren: Brian and Lee. Brother of: Earl, Somerset; Blanche Tasker, Johnstown; foster brother of Richard Berry, Somerset. Member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Elliott, Pa.; veteran of World War II; treasurer and administrator of the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the of the United Methodist Church. Friends were received Wednesday in the Hershberger-Stover Funeral Home, 170 Noble Ave., Crafton. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Lorenz Avenue, Elliott, Pa., with the Rev. Robert A. Wilson, Bishop James Mase Ault and the Rev. Sharon Everhart officiating. Body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until time of service. Friends also received 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home.
