Elizabeth Bittner, wife of Peter Bittner, died near Berkleys Mills, July 8, 
1898, aged 70 years, 3 months and 3 days. Funeral took place Monday at 10 
a.m. near Berkley.

My three-score and ten I have finished below;
And now to my grave I would peacefully go;
Life's trials and sorrows by me overcome
And I cross over to my final home,
Farewell, friends, farewell;
The time has arrived for my final farewell.

My true christian friends oft I've worshipped with you
But now for awhile I must bid you adieu;
Tell on and be faithfull till Jesus shall come,
And bid you a welcome to heaven, your home.
Farewell, kind neighbors, now absent I'll be,
Accept my last thanks for your kindness to me.
