All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ _______________________________________________ ELIZABETH BITTNER Elizabeth Bittner, widow of Jeremiah Bittner, died at her home in Larimer Twp. on Sun., April 17, at the age of 76 yrs., 9 mos. & 20 days. She was a daughter of Owen & Elizabeth Beal. Her husband died July 21, 1898. She was the mother of six children, five of whom survive, namely: Mrs. George W. Tressler, Mrs. J.L. Kendall, Mrs. G. W. Caler, Mrs. Simon Brown & Frank L. Bittner, all of Larimer Twp. She also had 36 grandchildren & 14 gt-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters: Polly Baer of Greenville, Rachael Miller & Maggie Staub of Meyersdale, & Drucilla Bittner of Sand Patch. Mrs. Bittner united with the Church of the Brethren in 1876 & remained a faithful member until her death. Her remains were laid to rest in the White Oak Cemetery, Tues. afternoon. The funeral services were conducted by Elder Silas Hoover of Somerset, assisted by Rev. George Engle of Ellerslie, Md. The funeral arrangements were in charge of Undertaker J. L.
