  BITTNER
  
    Emmert H. Bittner, 95, of Crossroad, Rockwood died July 23, 1998 at
  Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin.  Born Feb. 12, 1903 in Milford
  Township.  Son of the late William E. and Cora (Horner) Bittner. 
  Preceded in death by:  his wife, the former Gertrude (Firestone) Pyle
  in 1991; a sister Mary, and brothers, Foster and Rev. Galen Bittner. 
  Survived by a step-son Paul J. Pyle married to the former Carol Mock
  of Rockwood; step-daughter Mrs. Robert (Emma Jean) Armstrong. 
  Rockwood; ten step-grandchildren and seven
  step-great-grandchildren.  A farmer by occupation.  Member of
  Somerset Bible Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  Member of
  the Pennsylvania Farmers Association.  Friends will be received 2 to 4
  and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where
  funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Rev. Dale
  Lyzbicki officiating.  Interment, Middlecreek Cemetery.
