Bittner, wife of William H. Bittner, of Glencoe, Pa., died after a brief illness at the home of her son, Miles A. Bittner, at 4:30 p.m., July 26th, 1932. Deceased was born Sept. 21, 1860, in Northampton Township, Somerset County, Pa., and died at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 5 days. She was united in holy wedlock to William H. Bittner, February 16th, 1879, by Rev. John A. Nunen, of Fossilville, Bedford County. To this union were born four sons and two daughters, three sons and one daughter surviving, as follows: C. W. Bittner, Johnstown, Pa.; H. M. Bittner, Miles A. Bittner, and Nina Bittner, of Glencoe, Pa. The deceased became a member of the Evangelical Church at Glencoe, many years ago, and proved active and faithful until the summons from on high called her home. She lived a life which contained many of the characteristics which make up the life of a Christian mother, and her absence will be keenly felt, for no community can lose a Christian without the loss being felt and lamented. The requisite necessary for the Christian's triumphant victory over the last enemy, which is death, is faith in the Infinite Being, which this mother acquired and emanated in her life among her neighbors and friends. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. M. Gahagan, her pastor, assisted by Rev. C. W. Railey, at Glencoe. Interment was made at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Friday, July 29, 1932.
