Bittner, Jacob

  Jacob Bittner, one of Meyersdale's highly respected citizens died at his home 
on Main Street, on last Friday morning. Mr. Bittner had not been in good health 
for about two yrs. past three weeks. Death was due to a complication of 
diseases. Deceased, was 56 years, 5 months and 14 days old. He is survived by 
his wife and one son, Harvey, in whose home he and his wife have been living. 
Six brothers and four sisters survive: Madison and Harrison, of Rockwood; 
Nelson, of Kingwood, W. Va.; Harvey, of Confluence; Edward, of Rockwood; Mrs. E. 
C. Plitt, of Meyersdale; Mrs. Annie Flanning, Mrs. Mary Spangler and Mrs. Susan 
Enos, all of Rockwood. Mr. Bittner was a member of the Lutheran Church and his 
funeral was conducted there Sunday afternoon by his pastor, Rev. D. W. Michael. 
Interment in Union Cemetery.
