  BITTNER
  
  Jean Kathryn Bittner, 80, of Somerset died Nov. 8, 2002 at her
  residence.  Born Aug. 26, 1922 in Uniontown, a daughter of Clayton
  Work and Mary Kathryn (Kuhns) Hormell.  She is preceded in death by
  her parents; husband, Dr. Jay Robert Bittner who died Sept. 1, 1994;
  and sister Ann Hemp.  She is survived by two sons, Robert Jay Bittner
  and Dr. James H. Bittner married to the former Nancy Larkin both of
  Somerset.  Sister of Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Rice of St. Simon, Ga.  She
  was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, 1940 graduate of
  Scottdale High School; 1944 graduate of University of Pittsburgh with
  a BS in Education; member of Trinity Chapter 138 O.E.S.  Friends will
  be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler
  Funeral Home, Somerset where service will be conducted 11 a.m.
  Monday, with the Rev. Raymond E. Lyon officiating.  Interment
  Somerset County Memorial Park.  Contributions may be made to Calvary
  United Methodist Church, 239 West Church St., Somerset, Pa. 15501.
