BITTNER John Arthur Bittner Sr., 68, of Ellerslie, Md., died Monday, July 7, 1986, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born in Berlin, Nov. 28, 1917, he was a son of the late John G. Bittner and Sadie (Keefer) Bittner. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served two enlistments from June 1943 to January 1949. He retired in 1972 as a textile operator for the Amcelle Plant of Celanese Fibers Company, and was a member of the Ellerslie Outdoor Club, the Kennell's Mill Outdoor Club and Oscar Jordan Post 7375, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hyndman, Pa. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Wanda (Weimer) Bittner; three sons: John A. Bittner Jr., Alexandria, Va.; Ricky A. Bittner, Herndon, Va.; and Randy W. Bittner, stationed with the Navy in San Diego, Calif.; three daughter: Brenda L. Bittner, Alexandria; Mrs. Kathy Smeak, Meyersdale; and Mrs. Donna R. Spencer, Cincinnati, Ohio; two stepchildren, John Sowers, Rushville, N.Y.; and Sharon Ann Schojan, Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, Richard Bittner, Youngwood; and William Bittner, Coatesville; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Dull, Scottdale; and eight grandchildren.
