Bittner, 78, of Somerset RD 2, formerly of Meyersdale, died Jan. 6, 1992, at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 5, 1914, in Meyersdale. Son of the late Henry W. and Carrie May (Platter) Bittner. Preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey E. and William, and two sister, Helen and Anna Lohr. Survived by his widow, the former Viola A. Lindeman, and a daughter, Doris, wife of Larry Show of Somerset RD 2; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale. Retired conductor for the B&O Railroad and retired maintenance man at the Gallatin National Bank, Meyersdale. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Leckemby Funeral Home, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, with Pastor Dale Lyzbicki officiating.
