Bittner, 60, of Breezewood, died at his home, Friday, July 26, 1996. He was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Somerset, a son of the late Luthern W. and Florence (Woy) Bittner. He was married to the former Patricia Koontz in Somerset, Sept. 15, 1962. She survived along with two children; Charles L. Bittner, Enola and Sandra L. Bittner, Hagerstown, Md.; one brother, L. Frank Bittner, RD 2 Everett and his wife, the former Alice Critchfield. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Breezewood, Somerset Lodge F. & A. M. 358, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh. Former member of the Breezewood Lions Club and the Breezewood Fire Department. Employed at Gateway Travel Plaza for over 36 years, currently in position of transportation manager. He served in the U.S. Air Force and the Air Force Reserves. Served in the 307th Field Maintenance Squadron, SAC. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, in the Dalla Valle Funeral Chapel, Main Street, Everett, with the Rev. Edward Andrews Jr. officiating. Friends may call at the Dalla Valle Funeral Service from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Cemetery with full military services conducted by the Everett Honor guard. Everett Masonic Lodge F. & A. M. 524 will conduct services at 7:30 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
