All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ MARY BELLE BRAUCHER BITTNER Mrs. Mary Belle Braucher Bittner, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Braucher, was born May 26, 1871, and died Jan. 8, 1932, aged 60 years, 7 months and 13 days. Her death was due to heart trouble. Mary Belle Braucher was united in marriage to Joseph Bittner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bittner, Sept. 16, 1888. To this union were born eleven children, two of whom preceded her to the grave, in infancy. She leaves to mourn her loss, her bereaved husband and nine children - Mrs. Mahlon Pugh, of Meyersdale; Mrs. Luther D. Wedge, of Smithfield; Harvey, John, Alva and Joseph Bittner, Mrs. Charles Beal, Mrs. Albert Arnold, all of Meyersdale, and Ethel Bittner, at home. She also leaves three sisters and four brothers, Harvey and John Braucher, of Ohio; Edward Braucher of Denver, Charles Braucher of Berlin, Sumna and Lucy of Ohio and Ida of Pittsburgh; also nine grandchildren. Mrs. Bittner united with the Church of the Brethren in 1907 of which she was a faithful member until her death. The funeral was conducted in the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, by the pastor, Rev. George L. Detweiler. Undertaker W. C. Price had charge of the funeral arrangements. Interment was in Union Cemetery. Among relatives who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Spitznas, Mrs. Lucy Flesher, one son and two daughters, and John Braucher, and son and daughter, of Ohio. Meyersdale Republican, January 21, 1932 ----- BELLE BROUGHER BITTNER Mrs. Belle Brougher Bittner, aged 60, wife of Joseph Bittner, of Summit Township, died at 8 o'clock Friday morning at her home following an extended illness. She is survived by her husband and these children: Harvey, Robert, Alva, Joseph, Mrs. Mahlon Pugh, Mrs. Charles Beal and Mrs. Albert Arnold, all of Summit Township, and Ethel, at home. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren by Rev. George L. Detwiler, pastor, followed by interment of her remains in Union Cemetery.
