  Norman J. "Sam" Bittner, 69, passed on Oct. 13, 2005, at The Patriot. Born July
  29, 1936, in Listie, he is the son of the late Norman and Ethel (Beech) Bittner.
  He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ronald and Robert Bittner.
  He is survived by his sisters, Nina and husband, Phil Stevanus, Friedens; and
  Leoda Curtis, Meyersdale; sisters-in-law, (Mrs. Ronald) Denise (Ohler) Bittner,
  Kantner; and (Mrs. Robert) Sharon (Moore) Bittner, Claremore, Okla.; and
  numerous nieces and nephews. A veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the
  Friedens Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of
  service at 3 p.m. Sunday at Friedens Lutheran Church. Interment, Listie
  Cemetery. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. In lieu of flowers,
  memorial donations may be made to the Friedens Lutheran Community Ministry
  Center c/o Friedens Lutheran Church, 131 S. Main St., Friedens, PA 15541. LOGO
