BITTNER Philip Henry Bittner, 56, Berlin, RD 4, died suddenly June 24 while at work in Frostburg. He was employed as a track foreman for the Western Maryland Railway. Born in Glencoe, he was a son of the late James and Eva (Ackerman) Bittner. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Weimer) Bittner; five sons, Henry Bittner Jr., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; James B. Bittner, Akron, Ohio; Paul R. Bittner, Somerset; Larry A. and Carl E. Bittner, at home. Also surviving are a brother, James Bittner, Glassport; two sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Cook, Glencoe, and Mrs. Betty Smith, Berlin; three step-sisters, Mrs. Juble Werner, Glencoe; Mrs. Ida Owens and Mrs. Rose Edwards, Cumberland; four step-brothers, Bunn and Bert Cook, Pittsburgh; Homer and Robert Cook, Glencoe, and five grandchildren. Service was held June 27 at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, with Rev. Herald Seese officiating. Interment was in the Hostetler Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, June 30, 1966 [B1668]
