Bittner, 81 of Meyersdale, died March 23, 2007 at Memorial Hospital Cumberland, MD. He was born May 2, 1925 in Sand Patch, a son of the late Frank L. and Alice (Petenbrink) Bittner. Also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty J. (Geiger) Bittner. Survived by his second wife, Eleanor (Murray) Bittner; and three children: Cheryl D., wife of Randy Klink, Meyersdale; Richard E. Bittner and his wife Maureen, Winchester, VA; and Kevin R. Bittner, and his wife Marlene, Meyersdale. Also eight grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Two step children: Terry Weller, Somerset; and Lori, wife of William Bristol, Philadelphia. Also three step grandchildren, and a step great granddaughter. Bob retired from the Chessie System with 41 years of service. A veteran of the U.S. Army WWII, and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 112 where he served as Western PA Vice Commander, and Adjutant of Post 112. A member of Masonic Lodge 554 F&AM, and was a charter member of Friendship Grange and a member of Hillcrest Grange. Friends were received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Price Funeral Home Meyersdale, where service was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev.
