SOPHIA ELLEN BITTNER

  Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon by Rev. F. A. Webb, at the 
home of Ross Umbel, for Sophia Bittner, 74, who died Saturday, in a hospital in 
Warren, Ohio, after an illness of several years.
  She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Hartzel) Reese.
  In the year 1888 she and Harvey Bittner were united in marriage.  Five 
children were born to them.  One preceded his mother in death, at the age of 16.  
Those who survive are her husband, three sons, Harvey, James and Russell, of 
Akron, Ohio, and one daughter, Mrs. Ross Umbel, of Confluence; also 10 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
  Interment was made in the Jersey Baptist Cemetery.  C. B. Humbert had charge 
of the burial arrangements.
