  VERNA M. BITTNER
  
    Verna Mae Bittner, 72, of California, Pa., and formerly of
  Meyersdale, died Jan. 1, 1978, at the Waynesburg (Pa.) Hospital.
    Born in Meyersdale, May 20, 1905, she was a daughter of the late
  Irvin and Lydia (Hostetler) Bittner.
    She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of California.
    She is survived by a son, James L. Bittner, California; two
  brothers, Henry B. Bittner, Cleveland, and Thomas F Bittner.
    The body is at the Price Funeral Home here where friends will be
  received.
    Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. at the funeral home by Rev.
  John Rankin.  Interment will be in the Hostetler Cemetery.
