"Bill" Bittner, 71, of 642 Baker Street, city, died August 21, 1984 at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born in Berlin, he was the son of the late John M. Bittner and Sadie (Felker) Bittner. He retired in 1976 as an employee of the shipping department of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, after 25 years of service. He was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, Cresaptown Eagles, Aerie 2883; a social member of Post 13, American Legion; Eastgate Lodge 216, AF&AM; Scottish Rite Bodies of Cumberland, Ali Ghan Shrine Temple, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and Local 26, Kelly Retired Club. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Wanda O. (Combs) Bittner; one son, James L. Bittner, Cumberland; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia A. Phillips, Mrs. Helen A. "Cookie" Radcliff, both of Cumberland; three brothers., John A. Bittner, Ellerslie, Maryland; William Bittner, Coatesville; Richard Bittner, Youngwood, a sister, Ruth E. Dull, Scottsdale; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Friends were received at Kight Funeral Home. The Republic, August 30, 1984 [B1700]
