WILLIAM A. BITTNER

  William A. Bittner, 42, of Meyersdale, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 27, in 
the Somerset State Hospital, after an extended illness.  He was a son of Henry 
W. and Mary (Platter) Bittner, and was born on May 7, 1902.  Survivors include 
his father, his aged grandmother, Mrs. Matilda Bittner, Meyersdale, and two 
brothers and two sisters - Harvey, Connellsville; Frank, Meyersdale; Mrs. Anna 
Lohr, Connellsville, and Helen Marie, at home.
  Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the 
Bittner home, 120 High Street, by Rev. R. M. Dunkelberger, D.D., pastor of Zion 
Lutheran Church.  Interment in Union Cemetery under the direction of R. Reich & 
Son.
