Born July 23, 1918, in Ohiopyle, daughter of Charles Goss Gundrum and Pauline Elizabeth (Hanes) Gundrum; Preceded in death by parents; husband Samuel Albert Black, who died Dec. 3, 1991; brother, Charles Gundrum; and sister, Audrey Lucille Gundrum. Survived by children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter by families: Samuel C. Black and wife, the former Diane Beresky, Linglestown, Pa., and their daughter, Mrs. Robert (Stephanie) Gratkowski; and their daughter, Alexis Gratkowski; Carole Sue Torpey, wife of Robert E. Torpey, Tuscan, Ariz., and their children Sean and Suzanne Torpey; Douglas M. Black and wife the former Margaret "Peggy" Flannery, Boswell, and their children, Jennifer and Deborah Black; Allen J. Black, and wife, the former Suzy Bonadio, Friedens, and their children, David Lape, James Black and Joseph Black; Jeffery L. Black, and wife, the former Cindy Qualters, Somerset, and their children, Jeremiah, Lindsey and Mallory Black. Sister of: Mrs. Helen G. Sprout, Picture Rocks, Pa.; Mrs. Kathryn "Kay" Schaff, Rockwood; Mrs. Gale (Jane) Hillegas, Salisbury; Eugene H. Gundrum, married to the former Dorothy Eilhardt, Pittsburgh. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset Garden Club, Somerset Hospital Auxiliary and was a volunteer in the gift shop and snack bar. No visitation or viewing. Memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset, with the Rev. Robert L. Hoover Jr. officiating. Interment, Addison Cemetery.
