  Rosella Black, 87, of Windber, died Aug. 20, 2002 at Windber Medical
  Center.  Born March 10, 1915 in St. Benedict, daughter of the late
  William and Margaret (Johns) Ruby.  Also preceded in death by husband
  Ellsworth C.; daughter Sheila Byer; great-granddaughter Kiran Michael;
  brothers Ted and Jesse Ruby and sister Elizabeth Geisel.  Survived by
  these children:  Ellsworth, Windber; Harold, married to the former
  Carolyn Ward, Big Pine Key, Fla.; Milton, married to the former Wilma
  Holsopple, Hooversville; Robert, married to the former Rosalie
  Boehrns, Pasadena; Kenneth married to the former Rosa McMichael,
  Keedysville, Md.; Dixie Jezeskie, Windber; Larry, married to the
  former Nila Dzurko, Berlin; Karen Beard, St. Paul, Minn.; Cheryl
  Black, with whom she resided, Shirley, wife of John Kozar; Phyllis
  Cocco and Gary, married to the former Karen Sturtz, all of Windber. 
  Also son-in-law Donald Byer, Windber; 32 grandchildren and 34
  great-grandchildren.  Sister of Charlotte Moulden, Columbia, S.C.;
  Nathaline George, Grandview, Miss.; and Lois Keith, Toledo.  Also
  survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Rosella loved her children,
  grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.  She was an avid
  bingo and slot machine player.  The family will receive friends from
  2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Meek Funeral Home Ind., Windber
  where service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday.  The Rev. Ken Gresh,
  officiating.  Interment Broad Top Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to
  either American Cancer Society or Windber Regional Hospice in memory
  of Mrs. Black.
