Blackford, died June 23, 2001 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 10, 1925 in Black Township, daughter of the late Charles and Laura (Miller) Weimer. Preceded in death by brothers, Clifford, Everett and Leicester and sisters, Hazel (Phillipi) Shaffer, Viola Clay and Evalene Sterner. Survived by husband of 45 years, Richard C. Sr.; children, Richard C. Jr., married to the former Mary Camut, and Jody, wife of Richard Kirk, both of Johnstown; and grandson, William Blackford. Also survived by brother, Wilbur, and sister, Goldie Mayhugh, both of Rockwood. Member of the First Lutheran Church. Graduate of Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and School of Radiology. Laverne enjoyed attending auctions and was also a cancer survivor for more than 25 years. Retired registered nurse and registered x-ray technician from Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. No visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dr. Robert G. Swanson and Pastor Karen L. Leedahl officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
