Blank, 87, formerly of Route 3, Bedford Road, died Saturday, July 8, 1989, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Md., where he had been a patient seven months. Born Jan. 28, 1902, in Wellersburg, he was the son of the late John Edward and Cecilia Martha (Orndorf) Blank. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alverda Martha (Langer) Blank, Jan. 14, 1987. He was a retired sheetmetal worker for the Walter N. Yoder and Son Company and a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Surviving are three sons, Thomas E. Blank and Richard A. Blank, both of San Manuel, Ariz.; Howard Junior Blank, Cumberland, Md.; four daughters, Mrs. Betty E. Windemuth and Mrs. Carol J. Shafer, both of Cumberland, Md.; Mrs. Juanita J. Lynch, Boonton, N.J.; and Mrs. Martha A. Mumma, Centerville, Va.; one brother, Raymond Blank, Hyndman, 31 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence. Services were conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Richard A. Seaks. Interment, Hillcrest Burial Park.
