  MELVIN D. BLANK
  
    Melvin D. Blank, 85, Jerome, died Feb. 19, 1984, at Memorial Hospital.
    He was born July 9, 1898, in Wellersburg, son of John and Cecelia
  (Orandorf) Blank.
    He was preceded in death by parents; first wife, former Rose Rachel
  Holsopple, who died March 30, 1967; and six sisters and six brothers.
    He is survived by widow, former Virginia (Tompkins) Pebley, and these
  children - Gerald, married to former Ann Penner, Hollsopple, the Rev.
  Robert, married to former Dorothy Baker, Mill Run; Duane H., married to
  former Grayce Wootton, Johnstown RD 3; and Joan, wife of Rodney Vuckovich,
  Johnstown RD 4; also 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three
  great-great-grandchildren.
    He is also survived by stepchildren, Delores Hostetler, Hollsopple RD 1;
  William Pebley, Washington; David Pebley, Maylene, Ala.; and John Pebley,
  Jerome; also 17 stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
    He was a brother of Howard, Cumberland, Md., and Raymond, Wellersburg.
    He was a member of Maple Spring Church of the Brethren; former member of
  Bethel United Methodist Church, Hollsopple, for 45 years; member of senior
  citizens of Tire Hill, Maple Springs and Hollsopple, and Tire Hill Local
  998, UMWA.
    Friends were received at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville, where
  services were held at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren with the Revs.
  Eugene Miller and Lawrence Raughley III officiating.  Interment, Custer
  Cemetery.
