  William J. Blank, 82, of Somerset RD 5 died Jan. 24, 1978, in the Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born Sept. 29, 1895, in Wellersburg, a son of John
  Edward and Cecilia (Orndorff) Blank.  Survived by these children:  Bernard
  M. of Joliet, Ill.; W. Clifford and Dale C., both of Riverside, Calif.;
  Eleanor Holliday of Somerset RD 5; and Nancy Heller of Lombard, Ill.; 15
  grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; four brothers:  Melvin of Jerome;
  Raymond of Wellersburg; and Harry and Howard, both of Maryland.  Member of
  Somerset FOE 1801, and UMWA.  Retired coal miner.  Friends will be received
  from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral
  Home where services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. H.
  Carl Buterbaugh officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
