He was born in Garrett county, Md., Aug. 30, 1884 His first wife, Mamie (Weimer) Blocher, preceded him in death in 1909, and his second wife, the former Mildred R. Hawn in 1965. Surviving are three sons: Roy F. Blocher, Salisbury; Glenn H., Mobile, Ala.; Fred B., Atlanta, Ga.; five daughters, Mrs. Grace Brown, Meyersdale; Mrs. Alma Dodge, Baltimore; Mrs. Mary Harris, Havre de Grace, Md.; Mrs. Marjorie Tressler, Salisbury; and Mrs. Jean Holler, Hyndman; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Anne Baker, Meyersdale RD 4, and a step-brother to Chris Bowers, Boynton; Lewis and Oscar of Harrisburg. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Salisbury; the United Mine Workers of America; and the Mohican Tribe of the Improved Order of the Redman. Funeral services was held Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, with Rev. David Fetter officiating. Interment was made in the IOOF cemetery.
