Blocher, 70, Salisbury RD 1, died March 13, 1980, in Cumberland, Md. Born Nov. 2, 1909 in Garrett County, Md., a son of the late Aden Blocher and Mildred (Hawn) Blocher. Survived by his wife, the former Mildred E. Wagner; one son, Gary B. Blocher, Salisbury; one grandson, Jason Blocher; also five sisters: Mrs. Grace Brown, Meyersdale; Mrs. Alma Dodge, Salisbury; Mrs. Jean Holler, Hyndman; and one brother, Fred Blocher, Atlanta, Ga. A well-known area farmer, a charter member of the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department, member and past president of the Salisbury Lions Club, member of the Salisbury Elk-Lick School Authority, a director of the Somerset County Maple Producers Association and a member of the Somerset County Planning Commission. Friends are being received at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.
