All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ SAVINA BLOCHER The death of Miss Savina Blocher of Dixie Tavern, Little Crossings, in the Allegany Hospital, Cumberland, Sunday night, after a week's illness of pneumonia, came as a shock to her many relatives and friends here and elsewhere. Miss Blocher was a daughter of the late Wesley and Ellen Blocher and was 61 years of age. She is survived by one sister, Miss Mary, who assisted her in operating the Dixie Tavern for several years, and three brothers, Urban, Ohio, V. Llewelyn and Frank Blocher, of Wayne, Mich. A requiem mass was solemnized at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, of which she was a very faithful member, on Wednesday morning, at 9:30 o'clock. Rev. Father Cuthbert, O.C.M., Cumberland, and Very Rev. Father J. J. Brady, of Meyersdale, officiated. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Frostburg. Meyersdale Republican, August 20, 1931
