Mrs. Blocher was a victim of what is known as a "leaking heart." She had been in delicate health since childhood, nevertheless was of comely appearance and looked as though she might be in the enjoyment of good health. She bore her affliction patiently and uncomplainingly and maintained a cheerfulness of disposition that led her friends to believe that she was well and had prospect of long life. Both Mr. and Mrs. Blocher were graduates of the Meyersdale High School and were married less than three years ago. They were a very happy and devoted couple and her death is a sad bereavement to the young husband, who is a successful and popular young school teacher at present employed in teaching in Northampton Township. Since the opening of school, Sept. 1st, Mr. and Mrs. Blocher were living with the Robert Hittie family in Northampton. Three weeks ago Mrs. Blocher's illness became acute and she was brought to the home of her parents last Thursday evening and died the following morning. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Ringler home, where many friends called to express their respect and sympathy. Mrs. Blocher was a faithful member of Amity Reformed Church. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. B. A. Black, who spoke very feelingly of her deeply religious nature and gentility of character. Her body was laid to rest in Union Cemetery. Mrs. Blocher is survived by her husband and parents, three brothers, Herbert, of Munhall, Oscar and Robert, at home with their parents, and one sister, Edna, wife of Walter Rickard. Much sympathy is felt for the young husband and bereaved parents. Meyersdale Republican, November 19, 1931
